Implants
It may surprise you to learn that implants have been in use for over forty years, though it is only in the last decade that they’ve had a dramatic impact on mainstream dentistry.
Today, implant retained crowns bridges and dentures provide a well researched, reliable option to replace lost teeth. Implant retained restorations can look, feel and function just like natural teeth.
However, placing successful implant retained restorations is a complex inter-disciplinary treatment option requiring a good understanding of surgical principals, hard and soft tissue biology, occlusal forces, and materials science.
That’s why it’s important that both our dentists at StKildadentist have over 5 years experience in restoring implants with various tooth replacement options.
StKildadentist works in close co-operation with some of Melbourne’s most respected specialist Periodontists to whom we refer our patients to have the implants placed. We then restore the implants at StKildadentist once they have integrated and you have healed.
Implant placement is done only after detailed inter-disciplinary treatment planning with the Periodontist and laboratory technicians to make sure our outcomes are as predictable as possible and achieve the functional and aesthetic result you want.
Dr Staddon is a member of the Australian Prosthodontic Society, the Australian Society of Implant Dentistry and the International College of Oral Implantologists and regularly attends postgraduate courses on the latest developments in Implant dentistry.
